Adopt A Filter focuses on using locally manufactured clay pots integrated with modern filtration systems to provide clean drinking water for underserved communities in rural India. By partnering with Kent RO, a leading water filter manufacturer, the project combines advanced technology with India’s traditional water conservation practices.
These clay pots are embedded into gravity-based filtration systems that remove contaminants from stored water without requiring electricity. Each filter serves a dual purpose: cooling and purifying water simultaneously, ensuring it remains safe and refreshing even in high-temperature climates. Local artisans are involved in creating these clay pots, providing them with an alternative income through skills training in molding and firing. The project also promotes community involvement by distributing educational resources that teach users about filter maintenance and benefits. Through this, the initiative aims to build both sustainable water solutions and local economic opportunities.
